Customer Reviews for Sugar Ridge
My girlfriend and I returned from Sugar Ridge in Antigua on Sunday, booked via yourselves, everything was amazing, the booking/contact etc with you was great, and the resort itself was stunning, we both had an amazing time. We shall be using you to book again for sure!We are already thinking of going back to Sugar Ridge, the hotel and staff were so amazing............we even thought of staying an extra day or two but they were fully booked!!
We had a wonderful time at Sugar Ridge, it was fairly quite at this time of year, but that was probably a bonus in the restaurants and on the beach. The weather was perfect with just the occasional shower. The shuttle service to the 3 beaches was fun and gave the guests an extra opportunity to meet one another. All 3 beaches were great with their own Beach bar/restaurant and the shuttle driver always provided sunbeds for us. The hotel's own pools were also excellent.
The room was perfect although A/C unit rather noisy at night. We had a good view with several steps down to reception area and Gym which we managed to visit most days. this is one of the best Gyms we have seen with plenty of brand new equipment.
A great location for us, clean and modern and all the staff without exception were excellent and extremely helpful and friendly.
The Sugar Club Restaurant had good menu and service, we had a large breakfast there every day and several evening meals.(Excellent Steak)
Carmichaels Restaurant at the top of the hill was a real treat with fine food and teriffic views - definitely recommended! The staff were only too willing to give us a lift there and back in the Golf Buggy as it's quite steep!
We would definitely recommend the Sugar Ridge and believe it was worth paying a small premium to stay there.
Thanks to you all for making it an easy booking.
Would give it four and a half stars if we could!
A lovely holiday at Sugar Ridge.
Maybe not a traditional AI resort as it does not have its own beach. No real problem as they do a shuttle service to three which would be great for variety although only one was available during our visit (low season). You also need a bit of planning for the 2 resort restaurants/bars as they are a bit of a distance, in a vertically speaking fashion that is. The food was excellent but an occasional change in menu would not have gone amiss.
The room was very comfortable, finished to a high standard with a wonderfully large balcony and the gym is absolutely superb.
Best of all, and where Sugar Ridge really needs to be commended, is for the quality and attentiveness of their staff. This was our 10th trip to Antigua and would say that the people at Sugar Ridge are probably about the best we have known on the island. Open and friendly, they did seem to genuinely care about the service that they provide.
We definitely recommend Sugar Ridge and would have no hesitation about a return in the future.
We had a lovely, very relaxing holiday, Sugar Ridge is a lovely hotel. The food is very good especially the Carmichaels Restaurant with terrific views, the steak and fish nights were fantastic. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. It was great getting driven to the beaches which was only 10 minutes from the hotel. The room was very one of the best we have stayed in, lovely plunge pool on balcony. Good location, being just 5 minutes walk down to Jolly Harbour. There are quite a few steps around the resort but there are golf buggies which can be called upon. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.
We just got back yesterday after a very relaxing 9 days at Sugar Ridge in Antigua. The staff there are wonderful - I've never spontaneously hugged the hotel restaurant staff as we did after our last meals in both restaurants! Gorgeous people!
It is a lovely place - only a few things to mention: Anyone with any mobility problems at all would have problems there. Whilst they have buggies to run you around to your rooms, there seems to be no disabled access to the restaurant, bar, pool or even the reception which has a step up into it from all entrances. Secondly, the buildings are mostly white concrete. And it's not a resort for children.
Carmichael's Restaurant up top is the most fantastic place to be for sunsets and an early dinner as it gets darker and darker. Super! (Also no disabled access!)
The upper rooms are definitely the better bet - the little pools on the ground floor rooms are poky little things and as one fellow guest said, no better than a foot bath (they were in a lower room with a pool). Great views too from the upper rooms. We spent ages reading and relaxing on the huge room terrace. Ask for one up the hill, away from the road.
The all inclusive package is excellent value. It even includes the mini bar! The house wines were all really good. And a great arrangement with the beach restaurants too.
One thing to mention is Bo Tours. When we arrived they didn't have any record of our transfers so am not sure where that communication broke down.
However, we were impressed with their professionalism - though they were not expecting us, they hardly missed a beat, made no fuss at all (because I had the voucher), popped us in a taxi without any delay and the lovely and very efficient Kim came to see us the next day to brief us (without any hard sell)!
Return transfers all arranged and we were even greeted by name by another Bo Tours rep when we arrived at the airport yesterday!
