The Jalousie Plantation is a secluded luxury resort spread over 325 lush acres of tropical forest. Unsurpassed for its natural beauty, the resort is resplendent with a variety of native fruit trees and flowers.

It is located on the quiet southwest coast of St. Lucia just five miles from the historic town of Soufriere, nestled on a hillside above the Jalousie Bay in the shadow of the Majestic Petit and Gros Piton Mountains.

A former site of an 18th century Sugar Mill Estate, the remains of the original mill have now been integrated into the resort. The lush setting, one of the most dramatic in the Caribbean dips down to a quarter-mile stretch of secluded white sand beach.

The resort comprises a total of 112 rooms in various categories such as the Sugar Mill, Villas and Villa Suites. These rooms are scattered on the tropical hillside.

Each accommodation has a pool which has been sited for maximum exposure to the sun and the ocean views in mind. The bedrooms have hardwood floors and contain a mini bar in a custom cabinet, a sofa located in a traditional square bay window, a coffee table and a comfortable chair. A ceiling fan is provided.

Each room has a plasma TV, a CD/DVD player, an espresso coffee maker and a hurricane lantern for romantic evenings.

The Villas Deluxe and Villa Suites have a patio area and a private plunge pool. Most have a king-size bed and all have sleeper sofas. Villa Suites feature a separate sitting room and a separate shower stall. Sugar Mill rooms, villas without a plunge pool, villa ocean and mountain view rooms sleep up to 2 adults and 1 child. The villa suites sleep 2 adults and 2 children.

All rooms are equipped with individually controlled air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar, coffee maker, bathrobes, electronic safe, AM/FM clock radio, direct dial telephones with data port, TV with satellite reception and VCR. All bathrooms have bidets, hairdryers and make-up mirrors.

Room service is available 24 hours.

The Verandah Terrace:  Breakfast , Open Air Location.
Bayside: Lunch, Beach, Open Air Location. (Renovated end 2009).
The Pier:  Casual Dining, Open Air Location
The Plantation: Formal Dining, Closed Air Conditioned Location.
A new Rum Bar (The Cane Bar) and a new late-night bar opened late last year.  (Guests must be 18 years and over).

At the restaurants and bars, you will find a relaxed atmosphere for the nightly entertainment. The facilities include a billiard table and big screen TV. Weekly parties include a Calypso, Italian or Fish Market theme.

Recreation:
All non-motorised water sports are complimentary. Motorised sports and sports equipment are offered at a fee. On-site golf is available, all racquet sports, court times are complimentary; equipment is available for hire at the resort.

There is a one-quarter- mile stretch of secluded white sand beach; a world class Spa, with treatments using indigenous ingredients, sauna and plunge pools;  Newly renovated and fully equipped fitness centre with state-of-the art equipment and aerobics classes. Excellent diving centre with PADI instructor, using the hotel's own marine reserve; Snorkelling is available at the marine park on the beach; a swimming pool; Three-hole, par three golf course and putting green on property; Four all weather tennis courts with on-staff pro (three courts lit for night play); Basketball, squash and racquetball (squash) courts; Hiking trails, windsurfing, water skiing, sailing and many other water sports including deep-sea fishing.

At the 'Learning Centre' supervised activities for children between 5 and 12 years old include a three-topic biology course, covering Volcanology, Marine Biology and the Rain Forest environment. Also available is painting, craft making, story telling, dance classes, aerobics, computer games, videos, toys, board games.

Full business services, including fax and copying facilities, as well as dictation and secretarial services, are available.

Please note:  There is on-going  refurbishment being carried out at this hotel.  Construction of the new villas has now been completed, but The Great House basement and Spa Treatment rooms are still undergoing some work.  We are assured that none of the work will affect any guests as it is away from areas the guests use and is mostly internal.  All the restaurants are open, as is the gym and The Cane Bar (opened last year).
